Hiroshima University is now accepting applications for the Phoenix Postdoctoral Researcher (Advanced Program), a J-PEAKS-related initiative.
This program aims to attract outstanding early-career researchers from Japan and abroad, and to accelerate collaborative research and global network building at Hiroshima University.
本公募は、国内外の若手研究者を対象に、本学教員との共同研究を通じて研究交流・国際連携を推進する制度です。
Selected fellows will be employed as contract staff (postdoctoral level) and will pursue research in collaboration with a host researcher at Hiroshima University.
本学教員との共同研究を前提とします。

Overview（募集概要）
- Number of positions（採用予定人数）: 4
- Employment period（雇用期間）: From as early as possible on/after April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027
Renewal is possible annually depending on performance and budget; up to March 31, 2029（１年更新・最長期間あり） - Salary / Benefits（給与・待遇）: JPY 6,060,000 per year (based on university regulations)
- Research budget（研究費）: JPY 1,000,000 per year (pro-rated if starting mid-year)
- Social insurance coverage applicable（社会保険等あり）
Eligibility（応募資格・主な要件）
Applicants must satisfy all of the following:
- Hold a PhD, or expect to obtain it by March 31, 2026（2026年3月31日までに博士学位取得見込み可）
- Not currently employed in a full-time position at the time of selection (including fixed-term full-time roles)（常勤職にないこと）
- Not already appointed to an equivalent fellowship program such as JSPS PD Fellowships Research in Japan, etc.
Concurrent application may be allowed, but double funding is not permitted（重複受給不可）

Required documents include materials prepared by the host researcher (e.g., a joint research plan)（ホスト教員作成書類を含みます）

Selection & Notification（選考・結果通知）
- Document screening (1st stage)（書類審査）
- Online interview (2nd stage): research/plan/career presentation in English or Japanese（英語または日本語での口頭発表）
- Notification of results（結果通知）: From April 2026 onwards (via email)（2026年4月以降通知予定）
