【January 20 Event】International Symposium "Planetary Health and Sustainable Biotechnologies" to be Held

Hiroshima University's Seto Inland Sea Carbon-neutral Research Center (S-CNC) will co-host the international symposium "Planetary Health and Sustainable Biotechnologies: Harnessing Microbial Potential for a Circular Bioeconomy" with the Japan Society for Biotechnology, West Japan Chapter.

To realize a carbon-neutral, circular bioeconomy leveraging the diverse functions of microorganisms, J-PEAKS will invite speakers from researchers and companies both domestically and internationally to promote international collaboration in the bio-environmental field, which is a key focus area for J-PEAKS.

Poster Session and Networking

On the day of the event, two sessions featuring posters with identical content by young researchers will be held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Presenters may participate in either or both time slots. Posters will be displayed throughout the symposium. Setup must be completed between 10:00 AM and 10:45 AM, and removal must occur after 5:00 PM. The entry deadline for poster presentations is January 9, 2026.

Following the symposium, a networking reception will be held at Restaurant L'Boheme on the first floor of the Gakushuin Kaikan (reservation required). The participation fee is ¥6,000 for faculty and general attendees, and ¥4,000 for students (planned). Halal food will also be provided. Registration may close once capacity is reached.
