In fiscal year 2026, we recognized 11 young faculty members as "Distinguished Researchers (DR)" for their outstanding research.
We have now recognized 11 individuals as "Distinguished Researchers (DR)" for the 2026 academic year (Reiwa 8).
The "DR (Distinguished Researcher)" program recognizes young faculty members who conduct particularly outstanding research and provides them with focused research support. Selection is based on a multifaceted set of indicators tailored to the specific field, including research achievements, external funding acquisition, and academic awards received. The certification period is generally three years.
In addition to research funding support, certified individuals will receive priority support for travel expenses related to overseas dispatch and for improving the working environment of their affiliated department through the "Hiroshima University Young Faculty Overseas Dispatch Program," which is implemented as part of the J-PEAKS project.
The DR (Disability Rating) system was established in fiscal year 2012, and to date, 53 people have been certified, including the 11 people mentioned this time.
